How Much Is the London Eye to Ride on

The London Eye
Spectacular views: London Eye

Built as part of the year 2000 millennium celebrations, the London Eye seems to have captured the imagination of visitors to London. It is now one the most popular attractions of all. Essentially the proposition is a very simple one. Ride a giant big wheel 135 metres high taking 30 minutes to travel one revolution.

The London Eye is situated right at the tourist heart of London, (opposite Big Ben by the River Thames) with commanding views, (25 miles on a good day).

The attraction was originally sponsored by British Airways, so rides are called flights. The Eye is besides the River Thames on the opposite bank to Big Ben. Nowadays the sponsor is Lastminute.com. You can also check The London Eye official website here.

You ride in a luxurious capsule in comfort; each capsule is fully air-conditioned to keep its visitors completely comfortable no matter what the temperature outside. Each capsule also rotates on a special device designed to keep everyone upright as the wheel makes a slow but progressive revolution.

The London Eye is by Westminster Bridge on the other side of the river to Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament. The booking office is in the adjacent County Hall building, at one time home of London's governing body. County Hall also houses two hotels and two other attractions - The London Aquarium and London Dungeon.

Combine London Eye with a hop-on, hop-off sightseeing bus ticket - Big Bus

Big Bus is one of the three main hop-on, hop off sightseeing bus companies in London. A great package is to combine the London Eye with a hop on bus tour, saving you pounds on purchasing separately. Hop on tours are excellent for your first day in London, quickly getting you up to speed and orientated with the layout of London and your guide pointing out sights and destinations you might have not previously considered visiting

But most visitors to London will have their own "must see" list of attractions. So why not save some money and purchase your hop-on, hop off sightseeing bus tickets and your "must see" attractions as a package? You don't have to use the attraction tickets on the day you use the sightseeing bus either - you have up to 90 days to visit your chosen attractions. Madame Tussauds, The London Eye, London Dungeon, London Aquarium and Shrek's Adventure! are all available.

Using the link below (linking directly to the lastminute.com London Eye website) you can see all sorts of options including basic Big Bus hop on tour (with or without river cruise) plus an option to add on 2, 3 or four more attractions. The options are basically forms of the Merlin Pass (see above).

The more attractions you book - the more you save!

You can also book through Big Bus direct who also offer deals that include London Eye. See our hop-on bus comparison page for more information.
